HAVE QUESTIONS?

What to Bring?

You will need a bag for your belongings…bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, underwater camera, etc. (A cell phone inside a water proof protector is not recommended as an underwater camera). Please be advised: spray on sunscreen is not permitted on the boat because the over spray causes the deck to become slippery. You may use lotion sunscreen at any time. If you have your own snorkel equipment you are welcome to bring it. We do have equipment on board for you to use, no extra charge. Yes, the mask & snorkels are cleaned and sanitized between each use. You will NOT need water shoes.

Can I Wear Glasses or Contact Lenses

Absolutely! Since you are entering the scooter slow enough, you can leave your glasses right on your face. If you chose to wear contacts, just close your eyes and the diver will help guide you into the scooter.

How Deep Do You Go?

Once we descend the BOSS unit, your head will be 8 ft below the water surface at all times. Our scooters are attached to individual buoys to keep the constant depth throughout the entirety of the tour.

Does the BOSS Harm the Environment?

The BOSS unit is completely environmentally friendly. The unit is propelled by an electric motor attached to a 12 volt sealed battery and switch. Therefore, there are no emissions going into the water at all.

How Long Have You Been Operating?

Aqua Adventures has been operating in St. Thomas since 2002. We have safely taken over 180,000 guests on the BOSS Underwater Adventure.

Can Anybody Participate?

We have taken many people ranging from 10 years old to 80 years young, we have a minimum age of 10 and a minimum height of 4 feet. As long as you are in good physical health and can complete a medical questionnaire and sign a medical release waiver, you will be a perfect candidate for BOSS.

* For guests who have contracted COVID-19, you will need a doctors letter saying your lungs are cleared for this tour.

Can The Unit Tip Over?

No. The BOSS unit is designed to where it cannot tip over.

Do I Need to Know How to Swim

You do not need to know how to swim to participate in the BOSS Underwater Adventure. Our staff consists of certified Dive Masters and Dive Instructors; they will be with you throughout the tour. For our non-swimmers, the BOSS unit will be brought to the back of the vessel and you will be helped in and out of the unit. You are NEVER left alone.

What is the Temperature and Visibility of the Water Like?

The Caribbean Sea is very beautiful; the visibility ranges between 50-100 ft depending on the current weather. The temperature ranges from 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit all year round.

How Do We Enter the Water From the Boat

Our boat is equipped with 2 large metal ladders attached to the dive platform. Each ladder has 5 steps and handrails.

Will I Be Able to Do This If I have a Disability?

Wheel Chair Accessible?

Unfortunately, we are sorry to say that our boat is not designed for wheelchairs.

Missing A Limb?

We have one left-handed scooter available; just inform us before your adventure! Those who have a prosthetic leg we ask to make sure that it doesn’t float when submerged in water.
